מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו פ"נ מר"ח כסלו הוא חדש הנסים והגאולה, ובעת רצון יזכירוהו על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע.
ובודאי למותר לעוררו, שאם בכל מקום צריך איש היהודי להתנהג מתאים להתואר שלו, שניתן לו מבורא עולם, ממלכת כהנים וגוי קדוש, חוב נוסף בזה לאלו הנמצאים בצבא, וכציווי הנוסף בתורתנו הק', והי' מחנך קדוש, ולא עוד אלא שנוגע זה לכל אלו הנמצאים אתו, וכמבואר שם בכתוב, כי ה' אלקים מתהלך בקרב מחנך - באם - והי' מחנך קדוש, ויהי רצון שימצא אותיות מתאימות להסביר לעצמו את הענין וכן לכל אלו הנמצאים בסביבתו ויהי רצון שיהיו דבריו יוצאים מן הלב ובמילא יהיו נכנסים אל הלב ויפעלו פעולתם.
בודאי יתועדו ביום י"ט כסלו יום הבהיר ויום הסגולה הבע"ל, ויהי רצון שההתעוררות תביא להוספה במעשה בהנהגה היום יומי כפי הוראת תורתנו הק' תורת חיים.

I acknowledge receipt of your letter and pan from Rosh Chodesh Kislev, which is the month of miracles and redemption. At an auspicious time you will be mentioned at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, zatzal nishmaso Eden.
Certainly it is unnecessary to remind you that everywhere a Jew must behave according to the title given by the Creator—'a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.' There is an added obligation for those in the army, as our Torah commands: 'And your camp shall be holy.' Moreover, this affects everyone with you, as explained in the verse: 'For Hashem your G‑d walks in the midst of your camp'—if 'your camp shall be holy.' May it be His will that you find fitting words to explain this matter to yourself and to all those around you. May your words come from the heart and therefore enter the heart and have their effect.
Certainly you will gather on Yud-Tes Kislev—the bright day and auspicious day coming up—and may it be His will that this awakening leads to increased action in daily conduct as instructed by our Torah of life.
