במענה על מכתבו מכ"ג אייר, בו כותב בקשת האברכים דמאנטרעאל להעתיק את המאמר פתח אלי' אשר בתו"א עם ההגהות של כ"ק אדמו"ר (מוהרש"ב) נ"ע, על שטענציל, ומבקש רשות על זה.
והנה לכאורה אינה מובנת בקשתם של הנ"ל בענין זה, האומנם כבר בקיאים הם בספרי חסידות הנדפסים ובפרט אלו שנדפסו בשנים האחרונות, שבמאמרים אלו נתבארו ג"כ כמה מהענינים הנזכרים בהגהות לד"ה פתח אלי' הנ"ל, ורק הנ"ל חסר?
ובהנוגע לפועל, אם הנ"ל הוא בקשת רבים, והעיקר אשר תהי' ההעתקה מנוסח הדק היטב וגם ההעתקה יגיהו אותה כ"פ בכדי שתהי' מתוקנת ככל האפשרי יכול למלאות בקשה האמורה, ומובן ופשוט שכמו שכותב רק באופן שלא יפריע לו כלל מעניניו מתאים לסדרי הישיבה, הלימודים החזרה וכו'.
לפלא שאינו מזכיר מלימודו בהתמדה ושקידה ההוספה בזה מזמן לזמן כפי הציווי מעלין בקדש וההשפעה על כל חבריו שגם הם ישקדו בלימוד ככל הדרוש ובטח ימלא בהזדמנות הבאה.

In response to your letter from the 23rd of Iyar, in which you write about the request of the Avrechim from Montreal to reprint the Maamar 'Patach Eliyahu' from Torah Or with the hagahos (annotations) of our Rebbe (the Rebbe Rashab) of blessed memory, on a stencil, and you ask for permission for this.
It is seemingly not understood why they are making this request. Are they already so well-versed in all printed Chassidus books—especially those published in recent years—in which many of the topics mentioned in the hagahos to 'Patach Eliyahu' have also been explained? Is it only this one that is missing?
Regarding practical action: If this is a request from many people, and most importantly, if the copying will be done from a thoroughly accurate text and will be reviewed several times so it is as correct as possible, then you may fulfill this request. It is understood and obvious—as you write—that it should only be done in a way that does not interfere at all with your other matters according to yeshiva order: studies, review, etc.
It is surprising that you do not mention your diligent and persistent study. Increasing diligence over time is required by the instruction "ma'alin bakodesh" (we ascend in holiness), and you should influence all your friends so that they too apply themselves to study as needed. Surely you will fulfill this at the next opportunity.
