לאחרי ההפסק הארוך נתקבל מכתבו מעש"ק תולדות שנתארך קצת דרך הילוכו, ונעם לי לקרות בו אשר נסתדר ענין המשכורת שסידור ענין הפרס מגדיל האפשריות דלימוד ומעשה שלא עמלק"פ, ובאמת אין נוגע בזה כ"כ גודל כמות המשכורת אלא היסח הדעת מהדאגות שנעשה אז בקל יותר ומובן זה גם מדברי הרמב"ם בהנוגע לימות המשיח שהוא בכדי שימצאו להם מרגוע וירבו בחכמה כי יהיו פנוים בתורה בחכמתה, אף שבענינים גשמים ביום ההוא יחי' איש עגלת בקר גו', וכדרז"ל סנה' צד, ב.

בודאי ישתתף בהתועדות דיום הבהיר י"ט כסלו גאולתנו ופדות נפשנו, ויוסיף בעניני הפצת המעינות (עד שיגיעו גם) חוצה. וידועה דעת הרמב"ם (מקואות ט, ט): הי' יוצא חוץ לבריכה אז דווקא דין מעין לו לטהר בזוחלין ובכ"ש. וכבר נודע דבר משנה בכגון דא ואין אתה בן חורין להפטר ממנה ואין לך דבר העומד בפני הרצון.

After the long break, your letter from Erev Shabbat Kodesh Toldos was received—its arrival was somewhat delayed—and I was pleased to read that the matter of your salary has been arranged. Organizing the matter of a stipend increases the possibilities for learning and action not only for one's own needs. In truth, the actual amount of the salary is not so important; rather, it is the removal of worry that makes things easier. This is also understood from the words of Rambam regarding the days of Mashiach: it is so that people will find tranquility and increase in wisdom, as they will be free to engage in Torah and its wisdom—even though in material matters "on that day a man will live with his calf," etc., as our Sages said (Sanhedrin 92b).
I am enclosing a booklet that was published; surely you will merit to share its content with many others, for the merit of the public depends on you.

P.S. Certainly you will participate in the farbrengen on the bright day of Yud Tes Kislev—our redemption and the liberation of our soul—and increase activities in spreading the wellsprings (until they reach) outward. It is known what Rambam says (Mikvaot 9:9): if he went outside the pool, only then does he have the status of a spring to purify with flowing water—and all the more so. It is already well known what Mishnah says about such matters: "You are not free to exempt yourself from it," and "Nothing stands before willpower."
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that arranging one's material needs brings peace of mind for Torah study and action. He encourages sharing Torah teachings with others and emphasizes perseverance—nothing stands in the way of true desire.
