In response to your letter in which you inform me of your upcoming birthday on the approaching Shabbat Kodesh. Surely you are familiar with the birthday customs: receiving an aliyah to the Torah, giving tzedakah before prayer (if it falls on Shabbat – then on the preceding day), and studying and reviewing Chassidus in public if possible.

Regarding those who merited to see the face of my father-in-law, the Rebbe Rayatz zatzal: as quoted in Hayom Yom for 11 Nissan, one should seclude oneself for an hour and vividly picture in one's mind one of their yechidus—what they asked and what was answered—and afterwards learn from his teachings.

May Hashem grant you long and good years with success in your holy work. May you and your wife raise all your children to Torah, marriage, and good deeds with true abundance.
