נתקבלו מכתביו מיו"ד ושל כ"ד תמוז עם הרשימות דהתלמידים והשייך למל"ח והפ"נ. מכתבו השני נתקבל ביום ה' ובהיותי על הציון אז קראתי הפ"נ והרשימות. כן זה עתה נתקבלה התלגרמה ע"ד בנו שי' וקראתי בהיכל כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ ששם נכנסים ליחידות ולנתינת פדיונות. ובודאי צדיק מברך הוא כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ, והקב"ה ממלא ברכותיו על מילואן, לכל אחד ואחת לפי ענינו. ובטח לא ימנע מלהודיע בשו"ט מהטבת מצבם של בתו ובנו שי' הלוך וטוב.

התענגתי במאד להידיעה שכבר נגשו להבפועל ממש בנוגע למל"ח ומחנ"י, וכידוע מש"כ באגה"ק סכ"א ע"ד הזריזות אבל מטובו לפרסם שני התנאים אשר בזה: א) שלא יהא מגרעת כלל עי"ז בענין נפנה, כיון שכנראה המתעסקים בזה ובזה אחד הם, ב) שלא יכבידו על עצמם בהערכתם בזה.
ובנוגע להצלחה בעבודתו במלאכתו מלאכת שמים הנה מלאכה זו עצמה הצלחה כרוכה בה, וע"ד משנ"ת בזח"ג (צח, א) - ונאמר בליל שבועות - מאן תקין תכשיטהא ואנהיר עטרהא ושוי תקונאה כו', וזוהי עבודתו עם התלמידים נער ישראל ואוהבהו, ובפרט שכ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ אוחז בידו ומנהיגו, ורק שצריך זהירות יתירה שלא לערב רצונות עצמו, ולהעיר מלקו"ת שה"ש ד"ה צאו"ר השני פ"ד דאפילו לאחר המדרי' שעשה רצונך כרצונו צ"ל בטל רצונך.

Your letters from the 10th and 24th of Tammuz were received, along with the lists of students and matters related to Melach and the pidyon nefesh. Your second letter was received on Thursday; when I was at the Ohel then, I read the pidyon nefesh and the lists. Just now I also received the telegram about your son, and I read it in the room of my father-in-law, the Rebbe hk"m, where people enter for yechidus and to give pidyonos.
Certainly a tzaddik blesses—my father-in-law, the Rebbe hk"m—and Hashem fulfills his blessings completely for each person according to their situation. Surely you will not refrain from notifying me with good news about your daughter's and son's continued improvement.

I was very pleased to hear that you have already begun actual work regarding Melach and Machane Yisrael. As is known from what is written in Iggeres HaKodesh section 21 about zeal—yet please publicize these two conditions: (a) There should be no deficiency at all in matters of Nifneh (the standing), since apparently those involved in both are the same people; (b) They should not overburden themselves in their estimations here.
Regarding success in your work—your holy work—this very labor brings success with it. As explained in Zohar III (98a)—and recited on Shavuos night—'Man takin tachshitaha ve'anahir atarah v'shavi takunah' (Who prepares her ornaments and illuminates her crown and sets her arrangement), this is your work with the students: 'Na'ar Yisrael v'ohavehu' (Israel is a youth and He loves him), especially since my father-in-law, the Rebbe hk"m, holds your hand and guides you. You must only be especially careful not to mix in your own desires. Note from Likkutei Torah Shir HaShirim s.v. Tze'or perek dalet: even after reaching the level of 'Make His will as your will,' one must still nullify one's own will.
