a) All printing matters you requested have been sent to you and I trust you will inform me upon their receipt.

b) As for what is expected to be published soon (to my estimation), in order of their appearance: Sichos Kislev, the English calendar, the talk for Chai Elul—all of which are already at the printer. Another booklet of talks and discourses from my father-in-law, the Rebbe—my hope is that I will be able to send it for printing this coming week. After that are planned: Hayom Yom and "Our Book" from those parts not yet printed. The Kuntras Ayin Ches, for several reasons, is not relevant for the near future.

c) We have received additional copies from "Chachmei Yisrael Baal Shem Tov"; please let me know if you wish them sent to you and how many.

d) Why has the matter of recording memories been neglected?...

f) In due course I received from you payment for the last account—150. Of this sum: some was allocated to Machane Kodesh; the rest was distributed as per your instructions.

g) I was shocked to hear about the coldness and caution—which according to Rashi (Avodah Zarah 20b), it is understood that the role of a renowned craftsman in this area is to ensure that if a mitzvah comes into a person's hand without any effort on his part, at least he should not "fail" by participating or assisting in this mitzvah—of members of your group regarding shlichus. See Likkutim LeRa'eh from Strashelye p. 13a—it is explained according to Chassidus how great this matter is and how much it concerns anyone who wants to be connected. In Nigleh as well there are known teachings from our sages regarding shlichus—of our friend Haraha"g vavac"h etc.—while he was in your camp. Apparently this craftsman has already prepared several excuses and rationalizations drawn from matters of holiness which actually have an opposite effect—as explained briefly and subtly on a higher level in a letter from my father-in-law the Rebbe shlita (quoted in Hayom Yom p. 64), and its results in avodah are understood as explained in Kuntras U'Maayan MeTaz Perek Beis...

i) Enclosed are notes from Simchas Torah—as these pertain more to practical matters; when they are returned I will send you part one—that is notes from Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkos and Shemini Atzeres—and certainly you will not delay returning them. If this list has not yet been printed in Eretz Yisrael—it is prior to editing; therefore extra care must be taken with its publication.

yud) Please lend eighteen shekels from Kehot funds under your control and sign on my behalf—this does not pertain to Melach or Machane Israel but is a private matter from me—to Haraha"ch etc., hatamim MoharY Weinberg on his wedding day; I will pay off this debt here. The meaning of this gift is explained in Likkutei Torah at the end of Parshas Naso.

May it be G‑d's will that through these matters of this third month—and through new distributions during the third month of summer days (which represent avodah along Or Yashar—the path of tzaddikim), whereas winter days represent Or Chozer—the avodah during exile especially at Ikvesa D'Meshicha—as explained in Sefer HaSichos Simchas Torah 5689—we merit speedily and truly to revelation: "On the third day He will raise us up," which comes through Moshiach Tzidkeinu—and happens by spreading your wellsprings outward—see Simchas Torah 5690 section 32 onward—which is revelation of the light of Chassidus especially after imprisonment in Petersburg when he was freed on the third day—a day doubled with "ki tov," good for Heaven and good for creatures (Kiddushin 40a)—which explains specifically why "outward," see Tanya chapter 32; therefore they are called creatures etc.—and it comes through "this man," double light—Or Ki Tov—and acts himself with twice Or (numerically equivalent), "And you shall love... with all your might" (see Sichas 20 Kislev 5693 section 17); and the vessel for this is "And you shall love your fellow as yourself."

Summary

The Rebbe details current publishing activities, encourages active participation in spreading Chassidus despite rationalizations or hesitation, stresses financial integrity regarding communal funds, and connects these efforts with hastening redemption through Ahavas Yisrael and disseminating Chassidus outward.
