Shalom u'Vrachah!

In response to your letter from before Pesach: a) Your request for a blessing was conveyed to my father-in-law, the Rebbe shlita, and you will surely receive a direct answer. b) Regarding the writing of the Sefer Torah for greeting Moshiach: they have already reached Parshas Haazinu. Therefore, anyone who wishes to participate during the writing period should hurry in this matter. c) The completion of Shas Mishnah by heart is set for Sunday, the 15th of Sivan. At that time there will also be a lottery for the coming year—until after Shavuos next year—and certainly you, with the help of our friends in our esteemed community, will also arrange among yourselves a division and study of Mishnayos by heart, even more so than last year. Let it be known that reviewing Mishnayos by heart is not only for yeshiva students and those who dwell in tents (of Torah), but for every Jewish household—that is, even businessmen should learn some chapters by heart and review them while walking outside or standing in their shops and similar situations in order to purify the air. Surely you have already received the second collection of letters from my father-in-law, the Rebbe shlita; see there his talk on this subject.

d) Over time we have sent you several printed items published here by Kehot. Surely they arrived on time. We are also sending you another copy of "Seder Berachos u'Tefillos" as per your instruction. Thank you very much if you notify us upon receipt and also if you sent—and how many—in exchange to Eretz Yisrael. It would be good if you could organize through someone who does G‑d's will—even up to distributing and selling these items—so that the committee would inform us how many copies of each type to send and would handle their distribution and sale.

e) The Tamim journal issue 8 was sent to you as requested, as well as the Hayom Yom booklet.

I will conclude with a wish that through an inner feeling for the time of Matan Toraseinu—which does not change: just as then it was with awe etc., so too now with awe etc.—and through the matter of Shavuos which depends on Sefiras HaOmer (which according to most authorities is only rabbinic nowadays since the effect of birurim [refinements] will only be fully revealed in the future at their completion; yet since there is some effect even now some say Sefiras HaOmer is biblical—see Tanya ch. 46, Torah Or end of Bereishis and elsewhere), we merit to celebrate Chag HaBikkurim when the Beis HaMikdash will be rebuilt speedily in our days.
