א) במ"ש אשר י"א שלא כל הבע"ב שבקהלתו שבעים רצון ממנו וכו' ובמילא שואל חוו"ד אם יחפש אחר משרה בעיר אחרת,
הנה לדעתי לא נכון הדבר, והמרץ אשר יוזקק להשקיע בחיפוש במקום אחר, טוב יותר מכמה טעמים, שישתמש בו כדי להרבות רעים וידידים בקהלתו עתה להיות מעורב יותר עם הבריות (מובן מעצמו אשר העירוב עם הבריות צ"ל לא ע"י ויתורים על עניני תורה ומצות) וכידוע מרז"ל כל שיש בו יראת שמים דבריו נשמעים, וכן להראות להם אשר הוא בר פועל גם בעניני הקהלה, גם אלו הענינים שאין מקבל שכירות בעדם אשר עי"ז נעשים אהוב על הבריות ובמילא אהוב גם על המקום וכמרז"ל כל שרוח הבריות נוחה הימנו רוח המקום נוחה הימנו (פרקי אבות משנה יו"ד פרק ג') ועיין ג"כ ספר המאמרים אידיש דף קע"ב ד"ה הוא הי' אומר.
ב) במענה על הודעתו אשר זוגתו תחי' נכנסה בחדש התשיעי להריונה, הנה יה"ר מהשי"ת שיוגמר ההריון בנקל ותהי' הלידה בעתה ובזמנה בנקל בזרעא חייא וקיימא, וישתדל (בלי בליטות בדבר) בפתיחת הארון בימי הקריאה בתורה עד אחר הלידה בשעה טובה ומוצלחת.

In response to your letter (without indication of the time it was written):
a) Regarding what you wrote that some say not all the householders in your community are pleased with you, etc., and therefore you ask my opinion whether to seek a position in another city: In my opinion, this is not correct. The energy you would need to invest in searching elsewhere would be better used, for several reasons, to increase friends and acquaintances in your current community by becoming more involved with people (it goes without saying that this involvement should not come at the expense of Torah and mitzvos). As our Sages teach: "Whoever possesses fear of Heaven, his words are heeded." Also, show them that you are active in communal matters—even those for which you do not receive payment—since this makes one beloved by people and thus also beloved by the Omnipresent, as our Sages say: "Anyone who is pleasing to people is pleasing to the Omnipresent" (Pirkei Avos Mishnah 10, Chapter 3). See also Sefer HaMaamarim Yiddish p. 172, beginning with 'He was saying.'
b) In response to your notification that your wife has entered her ninth month of pregnancy: May it be the will of Hashem that the pregnancy be completed easily and that the birth occur at its proper time and easily with healthy and viable offspring. You should endeavor (without making a show of it) to open the Ark during Torah readings until after the birth at a good and auspicious hour.
