With heartfelt thanks I hereby acknowledge receipt of the books which you kindly sent to my library, namely:... In such matters, the more one increases, the more praiseworthy it is. And may the Master of Peace grant peace, goodness, and blessing upon your honor in both material and spiritual goodness.

In anticipation of the Festival of Redemption of our master the Alter Rebbe—our honored teacher Rabbi Shneur Zalman of blessed memory—the founder of Chabad Chassidus—I have sent you my blessing by telegram: "A good day for the Festival of Redemption of our master, author of Tanya, and for the triumph of the teachings of Chassidus; may his merit protect us all among all Israel. May you succeed in your holy work."

It is well known that our master the Alter Rebbe—the one who rejoiced—said that the teachings of Chassidus are not an inheritance for individuals or a party but are a legacy for all Israel. As in the famous letter from the Baal Shem Tov who ascended on high on Rosh Hashanah and entered Mashiach's chamber and asked him: "When will you come?" He replied: "When your wellsprings will spread outward." Thus every matter and action that helps spread the wellsprings—the light within Torah—is a preparation and hastening for the coming of our righteous Mashiach speedily in our days and soon; may it be so.

And peace to you and your Torah; may your strength increase in Torah study and may you succeed in all your endeavors for good and blessing both materially and spiritually.

Summary

The Rebbe teaches that spreading Chassidus prepares us for Mashiach's arrival. Every effort to share its light benefits all Israel and brings blessing both physically and spiritually.
