המצווה הרצ"ח
האזהרה שהזהרנו מלהשאיר מוקשים ומכשולים בערינו ובתוך בתינו כדי שלא יאבדו בהם בני אדם.
והוא אמרו יתעלה: "ולא תשים דמים בביתך" (דברים כב, ח).
ולשון ספרי: "ועשית מעקה" (שם) - מצוות עשה.
"ולא תשים דמים" - מצוות לא תעשה".
וכבר נתבארו דיני מצווה זו בריש שקלים ירושלמי, ובכמה מקומות בסדר נזיקין.
The 298th Mitzvah
1. The prohibition by which we were warned against leaving hazards and obstacles in our cities and inside our homes, so that people should not perish through them.
2. This is His statement, may He be exalted: "ולא תשים דמים בביתך" ("You shall not place blood in your house," Devarim 22:8).
3. In the words of the Sifri: "ועשית מעקה (שם) - מצוות עשה" ("'You shall make a parapet' (ibid.)—is a positive commandment," Sifri).
4. "ולא תשים דמים - מצוות לא תעשה" ("'You shall not place blood'—is a negative commandment").
