The 151st mitzvah is the prohibition in which we were warned not to eat maaser sheini while in a state of aninus (mourning on the day of a relative’s death). This is as He, may He be exalted, said: “I did not eat of it while in my mourning” (Devarim 26:14). And the language of the Mishnah is: maaser and bikkurim require being brought to the designated place, require a declaration, and are forbidden to an onen. Likewise, every onen is forbidden to eat kodshim by this verse. And the language of the Torah as well: “Such things happened to me, and I ate the sin-offering today—would it have been good in the eyes of Hashem?” (Vayikra 10:19). The laws of aninus have already been explained in chapter 8 of Pesachim and chapter 2 of Zevachim. One who eats kodshim or maaser sheini while in aninus receives lashes.
