Rabbi Shraga Feivish Herzog (1934 - 19th of Iyar, 2022) was a veteran educator and a respected member of the Chabad community in London. He was part of the group of emissaries sent to uplift the Chabad community in Israel. He was born in 1934 (5694) in Verbo, Czechoslovakia, to his father, R' Menachem Herzog, and his mother, Mrs. Chayale.
In 1950 (5710), he began studying at Yeshivas Tomchei Temimim in Melbourne. Before the High Holidays of 1955 (5716), he traveled to the Rebbe, arriving on the 28th of Elul, 1955, as part of a group of three students from the Melbourne yeshiva.
After the holidays, he returned to Yeshivas Tomchei Temimim in Melbourne. Following the Rebbe's instruction, he and his friends made several stops in Europe.
In the summer of that year, following the murder of the Yad HaChamisha (five Chabad educators murdered in Kfar Chabad in 1956), the Rebbe requested a group be sent to uplift the spirits of Chabad Chassidim in Israel. Alongside ten representatives from the United States and Canada, the Rebbe chose to include a representative from Europe, with Herzog selected as the representative from Australia.
The journey began on the 16th of Tammuz with a series of visits in Europe and continued in Israel from the 5th of Menachem Av until the end of the month.
In Adar of 1959 (5719), he became engaged to Mrs. Tcherne Roizel (Shoshana), daughter of R' Mordechai and Chana. After their marriage, they settled in London, where he began working as a teacher.
Over the years, he taught hundreds of students and was recognized as one of the veteran educators in the city.
He passed away on the 19th of Iyar, 2022 (5782).
