"וגאלתיך", מן החיצונים.

בהתעוררות רחמים עליונים, באתערותא דלתתא, בתשובה תתאה כנ"ל.

אזי, "שובה אלי", בתשובה עילאה):

So, since we say,  you can't start with Tshuva Ila'ah either. You have to first start with Tshuva Tata'ah. So within the Davning itself, you have the order. The Davning, the meditation, is what is the Tshuva Tata'ah, but before you start the Davning, you have to subdue yourself, that's the level of Tshuva Tata'ah, and then you get to the level of Tshuva Eloah.

Since Tfilo is the level of the higher level of Tshuva, that's why before it, you have to introduce, and you have to do the level of Tshuva Tata'ah, which means to subdue and be a broken heart, to be able to accept all the Tshuva Ila'ah .

This is what our teachers of blessed memory said in the Mishnah: do not start to daven except from a place of 'heavy head.' What does it mean, a heavy head?

So, Rashi explained, ha'chna'ah, ha'chna'ah means to be subdued, to be humble.

That's the level of Tshuva Tata'ah. It's a true Tshuva Tata'ah, you arouse the mercy from above.

As the Gemara learns out over there, in Brochos, from a verse. How do we know that one has to be, before he starts davening, subdued? We learned it out from the prayer of Chana. Over there it says, she was bitter spiritually, she was suffering, she wanted a child, and she was upset. So, she prayed to Hashem. In other words, before you pray, you have to have ha'chna'ah, you have to be moras nefesh, you have to be subdued.

However, in the braisa over there, it says, the sages taught: you only start to daven from joy, you have to be b'simcha. So, that means, that that level of bitterness, that level of ha'chna'ah, is only very short-lived, a little bit. You start, but then, you transfer to simcha. It should be together with simcha, the bitterness, but here it says, the whole tefillah should be with simcha. So, the Alter Rebbe teaches that you start off with a little bit of ha'chna'ah, and then you go over to simcha.

But what do we do, if we can't sort of switch so quickly, our emotions, from a level of ha'chna'ah to a level of simcha? And now, in this orphan generation, we can't instantly switch our heart from one extreme to the other extreme.

So, you have to leave that level of ha'chna'ah for Tikkun Chatzos, for earlier. So what is the advice that we can advise? To introduce, to have, make first the level of tshuva Tata'ah during Tikkun Chatzos, as mentioned before. And therefore, when it comes to davening, you'll actually just be b'simcha, then you don't have to change it. So that's why, at that time of Tikkun Chatzos...

One who cannot, on every night, do it every night. And it brings down here from the note, that in general, Tikkun Chatzos is only for tzaddikim every night. But other people, you don't need it every night.

So, at least one day a week, a person should have Tikkun Chatzos, before Shabbos.

As it's known to those who know, that Shabbos is the level of Tshuva Eloah. So Shabbos by itself is going to bring Tshuva Ila'ah. And so preparing for the Tshuva Ila'ah from the Shabbos...

Shabbos gives the level of toshuv enesh, a person to return. So that's the higher level of tshuva.

Because on Shabbos, that's the time when the worlds go up to their source, and also the neshamah goes up to the source.

Especially the Shabbos davening. During the weekday davening, a person can also experience the Tshuva Ila'ah, we said before, through the kavonah. But not so much, but more so when it comes to the davening on Shabbos.

It's sufficient to those who understand.

Basically the purpose of the Igeres HaTshuva is to tell people they have to daven with kavonah, and that they have to reach into that level, with Shabbos at least, or on the weekdays as well.

in the last lines, it says that don't take Shabbos lightly, not only just observing, but you actually have the opportunity of Tshuva Ila'ah, that's not available to any simple person. Just as a gift for every Shabbos.

And like it says in the very last lines of the Tanya, it says that just like you have shomer v'zocher in the level of ma'aseh, in action, that you're supposed to keep the Shabbos, not violate them, you have to make the positive, the same thing is in one's thoughts, and in one's opportunities on Shabbos to do shomer v'zocher, and bringing down the greatest levels on the Yom HaShabbos, and this is through them. And now we understand the posuk, we can understand what happens. The posuk says like this, the Tanya says like this, I've erased your sins. And then the posuk says, return to me because I've redeemed you.

So, which means, that after Hashem removes the sitra achra, and He removes them away...

"וגאלתיך", מן החיצונים.

And I have redeemed you from the outers. What does it mean redeemed from the outers? Because we said when you did an aveira, you were mamshich, yourself and godliness, into the klipos. But when you did teshuvah, when Hashem says, I've erased your sin, and we said before, through the yud gimmel midos harachamim, in which Hashem erases the sin, through an arousal from rachamim elyonim, which fills the gap, which cleans, like he said before, that cleans it, through the person's arousal, because we said before, a broken heart, and asking Hashem for rachamim, through the level of tshuva tato, as said before...

Through your arousal of rachamim elyonim, through your own awakening, through tshuva tato, as said before...

Then, there is a shuva elai, return to me, with a higher level of tshuva, because I have redeemed you, and you're no longer from the chitzonim. You did the tshuva tato, then now you can return to me. Otherwise, it's almost not understood. Why is Hashem saying, if there's one level of tshuva, it says return to me, because I've redeemed you. So, the way it is explained here, because I've redeemed you with the tshuva tato, now you can reach in to do the tshuva eloah. Now you can go ahead and connect to Hashem on the higher, on the deeper level. First Hashem erases your sins, and that's through tshuva tato, through your arousal of rachamim elyonim. That fixes, then you take it out from the klipos. And then, then shuva elai. Elai means to me, tshuva eloah, that's the level of kiddushin, the level of being sanctified, to the highest level. What does it mean practically? Davening with kavonah, doing all the mitzvos and the Torah, in a way, with kavonah, to connect to Hashem.
