615 - The Law of Marital Relations on Yom Kippur - 2 Subsections

1 We have already explained that Yom Kippur is forbidden in marital relations. And since a man's heart is familiar with his wife, and he could easily come with her to habitual conduct — therefore he must conduct himself with her on Yom Kippur with all the distancings that he practices with her during the days of her niddah impurity. That is, that he should not touch her. And it goes without saying that he should not sleep with her in one bed, even if he is in his garment and she is in her garment. And likewise he should not speak with her at length. And likewise in all the details that are explained in Yoreh De'ah, siman 195.

And in all these matters one must be careful, both on the night of Yom Kippur and during the day.

2 One who has a seminal emission on the night of Yom Kippur — let him be concerned all year — perhaps his fast was not accepted, and they satisfied him with what was in their power to satisfy him. Like a servant who came to pour a cup for his master, and his master pours the pitcher (meaning: a pitcher of water, from which the cup of wine is mixed) over his face. As if to say: "I have no desire for your service."

And if the year passed for him — he is assured that he is a son of the World to Come. For certainly he has many merits that protected him. And he will live long days. For such is the sign: "he shall see seed, he shall prolong days" (Yeshayahu 53:10).
