1) Abba Eban is a Jew whose mother lives in London, and his wife is also Jewish; her sister is the daughter-in-law of Rabbi Herzog of blessed memory.

2) He has no opinion in the government—as is known and publicized even in American newspapers (but in America this is suppressed since he is the official representative in Washington).

3) He is truly one of the few in the government who throughout all this time has not intervened in religious disputes, as is well known.

4) The legal ruling is clear—when there is certainty versus doubt, certainty prevails: it is now widely acknowledged and everyone admits that based on this law Jews have been officially registered as non-Jews, and officials are instructed to continue doing so if they have any document; this has been published in all American newspapers.

All conjectures: 1) are considered doubtful. 2) All parties in America have clearly stated their reasons that every day silence (which counts as agreement) obligates them, etc.

5) The claim that protest will not help and therefore one should not protest—even leaders of Mafdal have declared that one must protest. See also Gemara Shabbat (55a).

6) Those who support the law here obtained a copy of his letter and are now discussing how to publish it to prove that even Rabbi Henkin shlita ruled not to fight against the law, etc.
