In response to your letter from Monday of Parshas Noach with its enclosure, which is returned here: In my opinion, you should try as much as possible to continue in your position as professor at... In addition to the good prospects in the job itself, more importantly, it gives you significant ability and opportunity to spread traditional Judaism in..., as well as for your wife. Even if one could say that elsewhere you could also do this work, it is impossible to predict in advance the necessity and success in a new place. Furthermore—and this is essential—our Sages ruled: "The poor of your city come first."
It is surprising that you do not mention anything about your wife and children; this is a sign that all is well. The order of life for a Jewish man and woman is to go from strength to strength in matters of Torah and mitzvos and to ascend in holiness.
You surely know that there was a special edition published of Iggeres HaTeshuvah by our master the Alter Rebbe in connection with the campaign to spread study of this section of Tanya Kadisha. Likewise, there was a special edition published of the English translation of Iggeres HaTeshuvah. My strong hope is that you will include spreading this study in your outreach activities—of course, learning that leads to action, for action is primary.
