לקו"ת: בשנת תשכ"ה הורה כ"ק אדמו"ר ללמוד לקו"ת על הפרשה בכל שבוע, ושאל א' כשאינו מספיק ללמוד הכל בשבוע א', האם ילמד בשבוע ב' השייך לאותו שבוע וישלים החסר בזמן הפנוי, או שימשיך ללמוד על הסדר. וראה גם לקמן אגרת ט'ז.

...Regarding Likkutei Torah, it is worthwhile to study it in order, as then there is hope that eventually one will catch up, unlike an "old debt"...
This was printed in Likkutei Sichos vol. 24 p. 365. Regarding Likkutei Torah: In the year 5725 the Rebbe instructed to study Likkutei Torah on the weekly parsha each week. Someone asked: if he does not manage to learn everything in one week, should he learn the missing parts during his free time in a later week, or continue learning in order? See also below letter 16.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that studying Likkutei Torah in order is best, as it encourages steady progress and avoids leaving unfinished obligations behind. If portions are missed, one should continue with the schedule and complete what was missed when possible.
