מאשר אני קבלת מכתבו מט"ו באלול, ולכל לראש עלי להביע גודל הקורת רוח שקבלתי בראותי ממכתבו יחסו לעניני חב"ד ובתי ספר חב"ד וכולי, ועוד וגם זה עיקר אשר כלשונו במכתבו "גם רוח חב"ד ותורתה קרובים אלי מאד ואני משתדל ללמוד אותה", שבודאי כהודעת חכמינו ז"ל הרי לימוד מביא לידי מעשה, ובפרט כשהמדובר במחנך ולא עוד אלא מפקח על מחנכים, שכל מינוי משמיא קא ממני לי', שמזה מובן שניתנים הכוחות והאפשרויות למילוי התפקיד והמינוי בהצלחה גמורה. ויהי רצון שישפיע בכיוון האמור גם על כל הנמצאים בפיקוחו, והרי הובטחנו הבא לטהר - וידוע דיוק רבינו הזקן בעל התניא והשו"ע, לא רק ליטהר אלא גם לטהר אחרים - מסייעין אותו.
לעצם השאלה אודות ניהול בית הספר, צודק בכתבו שלכל לראש ועיקר בכל בית ספר היא תועלת התלמידים והצלחתם בלימודם ובחינוכם, שלכן מוכרח שהמנהל יהי' היותר מתאים לתפקיד האמור. וכיון שהמסקנא היא כאמור, בודאי שישנה האפשריות להביאה בפועל, ולא עוד אלא ככל עניני תורתנו שדרכי' דרכי נועם וגו' גם בזה האפשריות להביא בפועל באופן האמור. וכנ"ל כיון שכ' הוא המפקח והענין נמסר לטיפולו, הנה סוף סוף ימצא הדרך להביא המסקנא לפועל לתועלת התלמידים, והשי"ת יצליחו, וההבטחה הבא לטהר מסייעין אותו בודאי כוללת שטח זה.
והתקוה חזקה שסוף סוף גם אלו שמאיזה טעם שיהי' אינם מתחשבים כדרוש בתועלת התלמידים יראו האמת וגם יודו לו אשר בשעת ההחלטה עמד על דעתו ולא שמע לתביעתם.
וינעם לי להתבשר טוב בכל האמור.
ולקראת השנה החדשה הבאה עלינו ועל כל ישראל לטובה ולברכה, הנני בזה להביע ברכתי לו ולכל אשר לו, ברכת כתיבה וחתימה טובה לשנה טובה ומתוקה בגשמיות וברוחניות גם יחד.

I acknowledge receipt of your letter from the 15th of Elul. First and foremost, I must express the great pleasure I received upon seeing from your letter your attitude toward Chabad matters and Chabad schools, etc., and even more so—and this is primary—that as you wrote in your letter: "Also the spirit of Chabad and its teachings are very close to me and I strive to study them." Surely, as our Sages of blessed memory taught, study leads to action—especially when it concerns an educator and even more so a supervisor over educators. Every appointment is from Heaven; from this it is understood that the strengths and opportunities are given for fulfilling the role and appointment with complete success.
May it be G‑d's will that you influence in this direction all those under your supervision. We have been assured: "One who comes to purify"—and it is well known how our master the Alter Rebbe, author of Tanya and Shulchan Aruch, precisely explained—not only to purify oneself but also to purify others—he is assisted.
Regarding your question about running the school: you are correct in writing that first and foremost—and most important—in every school is the benefit of the students and their success in their studies and education. Therefore, it is essential that the principal be most suitable for this role. Since this is the conclusion reached as above, surely there is a way to bring it into practice; moreover, like all matters of our Torah whose ways are pleasantness etc., here too it can be implemented accordingly.
As above—since you are the supervisor and this matter has been entrusted to your care—you will ultimately find a way to implement this conclusion for the benefit of the students. May Hashem grant you success; and the assurance "one who comes to purify is assisted" certainly includes this area.
The hope is strong that ultimately even those who for whatever reason do not sufficiently consider the benefit of the students will see the truth and also acknowledge that at the time of decision you stood by your view and did not heed their demands.
I would be pleased to hear good news regarding all of the above.
As we approach the new year coming upon us and all Israel for good and blessing, I hereby extend my blessing to you and all yours—a blessing for being inscribed and sealed for a good and sweet year both materially and spiritually together.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that true educational leadership means prioritizing students' benefit above all else. With sincere effort in learning Chabad teachings and steadfastness in one's convictions, one receives Divine help to positively influence others—even amidst opposition.
