אי אתה מחשב שעות לחדשים ומקריבין קרבן ר"ח בביהמ"ק כו' - אע"פ שהמולד אז אמתי (משא"כ בימינו שע"פ החשבון - רק אמצעי - כדאיתא ברמב"ם) ומקום המולד (שנכסית הלבנה בפועל) הוא באה"ק וסמיכות שלה (משא"כ בארצה"ב - שהוא כבר כו"כ שעות לאחרי שנכסית כו').

You do not calculate hours for months and offer the Rosh Chodesh sacrifice in the Beis HaMikdash, etc. — even though at that time the molad was accurate (unlike in our days, when it is based only on calculation — merely an approximation — as stated in Rambam). The location of the molad (when the moon is actually concealed) is in Eretz HaKodesh, and its proximity (unlike in America — which is already several hours after the concealment, etc.).
This was printed in Likkutei Sichos Vol. 9 p. 331. It is an answer to Moreinu HaRav Shmuel Pesach Bogomilski regarding his question whether to set a wedding date for Motzaei Shabbos, which is also Rosh Chodesh, when the molad is on Sunday morning of Rosh Chodesh.
