נעם לי לשמוע ממרת... על דבר היחס הלבבי שהראה לה במשך כל הזמן, ובפרט עכשו שנמצאת במבוכה ועומדת בפני שנוי במצבה לשוב לאה"ק ת"ו ונצרכת לעידוד ולעזר במיוחד.
ואף ששכר מצוה מצוה ואין צורך בתודה של בשר ודם, אבל רצוני להביע קורת רוחי בראותי מידת אהבת ישראל מתבטאת בפועל, במעשה הוא עיקר, שבמיוחד הודגש גודל ענין זה בתורת החסידות בכלל, ובחב"ד בפרט, על ידי רבנו הזקן בעל התניא והשלחן ערוך, אשר השנה היא שנת הק"ן להסתלקותו.
ויהי רצון שגם בתלמידיו ומושפעיו של כת"ר תהי' ניכרת מידה זו דאהבת ישראל במעשים בפועל, להשפיע בסביבתם בהחזקת היהדות המסורתית, שזהו הביטוי הפנימי של אהבת ישראל על ידי פעולה המביאה את המושפע לחיי עולם הבא ועולם הזה, נוסף על אהבת ישראל בטובה גשמית כפשוטה.

I was pleased to hear from Mrs. ... about the heartfelt support you showed her throughout the entire period, especially now as she finds herself in confusion and is facing a change in her situation to return to Eretz HaKodesh (the Holy Land), and particularly needs encouragement and special help.
And even though the reward for a mitzvah is the mitzvah itself (Avot 4:2), and there is no need for thanks from flesh and blood, I still wish to express my satisfaction upon seeing your trait of Ahavas Yisrael (love of a fellow Jew) expressed in action—action being the main thing (Avot 1:17)—which is especially emphasized in the teachings of Chassidus in general and Chabad in particular by our Rebbe, the Alter Rebbe, author of Tanya and Shulchan Aruch, whose passing we mark this year on its 150th anniversary.
May it be G‑d's will that this trait of Ahavas Yisrael be evident also among your students and those influenced by you, through practical deeds that impact their environment by strengthening traditional Judaism. This is the inner expression of Ahavas Yisrael: acting in a way that brings those influenced to eternal life in both this world and the World to Come—in addition to simple material goodness as well.
