במענה למכתבו מכ"ג תמוז, בו שואל האם מותר לשנות לנוסח חב"ד (נוסח האר"י ז"ל).
פשוט שמותר לשנות, ובלבד שתהי' ההחלטה בזה לתמיד, כיון שאין לשנות מנוסח האר"י ז"ל לנוסח ספרד ואשכנז כמבואר בפוסקים אחרונים.
בטח שומר על שלשת השיעורים דחומש תהלים ותניא הידועים, נוסף על
העיקר - לימוד בהתמדה ושקידה נגלה וחסידות.
בעת רצון יזכירו כל שכותב אודותם על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע.

In response to your letter from the 23rd of Tammuz, in which you ask whether it is permissible to change to the Chabad nusach (Nusach Ari z"l): It is clear that it is permitted to change, provided that this decision is permanent, since one should not switch from Nusach Ari z"l back to Nusach Sefard or Ashkenaz, as explained by later halachic authorities.
Certainly you are maintaining the three daily portions of Chumash, Tehillim, and Tanya as is well known, in addition to what is most important—consistent and diligent study of both Nigleh and Chassidus.
At an auspicious time, all those you write about will be mentioned at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal.

Summary
