... Regarding your comment on Tosafos s.v. Katan (Bava Kama 109b) that the immersion of a minor convert without his father is a matter of dispute in Ketubot (11a) – it is understood that the intention is to the rejection there: "Here, what are we dealing with," etc. And it seems that even the main words of Rabbi Huna were rejected (as explained by the Tur – Yoreh De'ah section 268 – in the opinion of Behag on this). – For if not so, what compels the Gemara to make such a forced change as to say we are dealing with one coming to convert with his father: a) Who mentioned the father at all – in the Mishnah? b) A captive and maidservant – according to all opinions there is no need for a father, and if so, it must be said that in one case it is taught by sides!
