Shalom u'Vrachah!
Regarding what you ask about the stringencies you have practiced for many years, which your husband has not observed until now. I am confident that if you explain to him the significance of this stringency, not only will he not prevent you from continuing your practice, but on the contrary, he too will begin to observe it. For this is a clear sign from Heaven that this stringency pertains to him as well.
As is known from the saying of the Baal Shem Tov—which we have heard many times from my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal—that everything a Jewish person sees or hears contains a lesson for his service of his Creator. And since, in whatever manner it happened, this stringency has entered his personal space—certainly he is also able to observe it and it pertains to him.
It is also understood that regarding this matter—as with all of our holy Torah—it is said: "Its ways are ways of pleasantness and all its paths are peace." When all of the above is explained without agitation and in a pleasant and peaceful manner—certainly peace in your home will increase, and through this also G‑d's blessing. For peace is the vessel that holds the blessing of the Holy One blessed be He, as ruled in our Mishnah.
Summary
Approaching differences in religious practice with calm explanation and pleasantness fosters unity at home. The Rebbe teaches that peace itself draws down G‑d's blessings into one's household.
