In response to your letter from the 20th of Kislev. Many thanks for the good news that you gathered on the bright day, Yud Tes Kislev, the day of liberation of our Rebbe the Alter Rebbe, author of Tanya—the authority in the hidden dimension of Torah—and Shulchan Aruch—the authority in the revealed dimension of Torah—and it is our day of redemption and the liberation of our soul. There was a gathering on the night before and on the night after.

According to the well-known saying from earlier generations in Chassidus: at a chassidic gathering one can accomplish great and wondrous things that even Michael, the angel who advocates for Israel, cannot accomplish. May Hashem grant success that these gatherings bring blessing and success to all participants and their families.

As you requested, I will mention you and the participants at the holy resting place (the tziyun) of my father-in-law, the Rebbe—may his merit protect us—leader of Israel, at an auspicious time. Also, I will mention the young boy... for health, and that his parents raise him to Torah, marriage, and good deeds.

It would have been proper that... is meticulous in observing mikveh and family purity laws—that is, immersing in a mikveh of rainwater or a spring, not in city water measured and drawn through various vessels and machines. This especially brings added health to their children.

Certainly you recite Tehillim every day after Shacharit—as divided by days of the month—and strive that your acquaintances also keep this practice; this was instituted by my father-in-law, the Rebbe—may his merit protect us.
