Shalom u'Vrachah!

I was pleased to receive your letter, in which you bring good news that your wife has returned to her strength. Certainly, following our Sages' teaching that one should always ascend in holiness, you will continue to share good news both materially and spiritually—regarding yourself and your wife, as well as your children and household—since it is a Torah commandment to bring joy to one's wife. This is part of the great principle in Torah, as Rabbi Akiva said, of the general mitzvah of 'Ve'ahavta l'reiacha' (Love your fellow as yourself).

Thank you for what you wrote to your son the Rav about the content of my letter to you regarding him; I am sure you also added from yourself. Since I see in your son's letter that he will continue discussing these matters with him, certainly you will also use future opportunities to strengthen and encourage him.

According to the well-known saying that time lost cannot be recovered and whatever can be done today should not be postponed until later—especially since it is known that each day has its own unique task, and every day must be filled with content appropriate for each individual's abilities—and especially if the person is a communal figure who can influence others who accept his guidance.

This is particularly relevant now since these days mark the return from their trip to Eretz HaKodesh (the Holy Land) of Rav... and Rav...—the heads and leaders of the Rabbinical Association—and certainly their visit to Eretz HaKodesh and the report they brought about how members of the Rabbinical Association relate to questions connected with Eretz HaKodesh will have an effect. This attitude will also be expressed in their sermons which, according to local custom, will be delivered during Pesach—especially on both the first days and particularly on the last days.

Blessings to you and your wife and all your household for a kosher and joyous Pesach both materially and spiritually together.

Summary

The Rebbe teaches us to share good news with others, act promptly without delay, uplift those around us—especially family—and recognize our unique ability to positively influence our communities through timely encouragement and leadership.
