בנועם קבלתי מכתביו מנר ב' דחנוכה ונר ז' דחנוכה, בו מודיע אשר שכר דירה בקירוב למקום דירת בנותיו שיחיו ומול הישיבה, ויה"ר שיהי' בהצלחה וידורו בדירתם במנוחה, מנוחת הנפש ומנוחת הגוף, ויתעסק בעבודתו עבודת הקדש כדבעי, מבלי בלבולים מענינים צדדיים, ובבריאות הנכונה שלו ושל זוגתו וכל ב"ב שיחיו.

ב) בנוגע ל... הנה טבח לא ייעף ולא ייגע מלדבר עמהם עוד הפעם ועוה"פ. והעיקר שיהיו דברים שבנחת, ויקויים יעוד הכתוב דברי חכמים (כשהם) בנחת נשמעים, ויה"ר שיבשר בשו"ט בכל הנ"ל, כמו שמבשר במכתבו בשו"ט מאופן התועדות חג החגים י"ט כסלו, ובהתאם לזה מוסג"פ, העתק מכתבי הכללי בענין זה.
מה שמקטין בענין הנחת התפלין שהי' רק ג"פ - יעוין תניא פכ"ה שלמע' הוא נצחי, לעולם ועד.

Shalom u'Vrachah!
With pleasure I received your letters from the second and seventh nights of Chanukah, in which you inform me that you rented an apartment close to your daughters’ residence—may they live—and opposite the yeshiva. May it be G‑d’s will that this be with success and that you dwell in your home with tranquility—tranquility of soul and body—and that you engage in your holy work as is fitting, without disturbances from side matters, and in good health for yourself, your wife, and all your family—may they live.
Many thanks for your precious gift—the note of my father-in-law the Rebbe zatzal—as well as for your writing about the sequence of events regarding the note, and for also attaching excerpts from my father-in-law’s letters.
b) Regarding... a butcher does not tire or grow weary of speaking with them again and again. The main thing is that these words should be spoken gently, fulfilling the verse: "Divrei chachamim (kshehem) benachat nishma'im" (the words of the wise are heard when spoken gently). May you have good news to report on all the above, just as you shared good news in your letter about the Yud Tes Kislev farbrengen. In accordance with this I am enclosing a copy of my general letter on this subject.
As to minimizing the matter of putting on tefillin—that it was only three times—see Tanya chapter 25: above [in spiritual realms] it is eternal, forever.
I sign off with blessings of mazal tov on your grandson Shneur Zalman’s entering into his covenant (bris milah), and may his father and mother as well as his grandparents merit to see from him—and from all their descendants—Jewish nachas and chassidic nachas in revealed good.
Summary
