Haraha"g vavac"h iy"a nu"n rav poalim laTorah u'lemitzvot tznam"s baal meretz etc. Chananya Yom Tov Lipa Deitsch

Shalom u'Vrachah!

I was happy to see you in person, in addition to your letter from Sunday with its enclosure. May the Healer of the sick, Healer of all flesh Who works wonders bless you.

May it be His will that your recovery be complete and speedy, until you return to your strength in both the literal and deeper sense—as explained in the discourse "Maskil LeEitan HaEzrachi" by our master the Alter Rebbe, author of Tanya and Shulchan Aruch.

Especially since the merit of the many supports you—your activities in matters of Judaism and especially in improving mikvaot, as well as your books on Mei HaDaat (the waters of knowledge), for "water" refers only to Torah—which is pure and stands forever—even when words are on human lips they do not contract impurity. Particularly those matters from the side of the Tree of Life where there is no dispute or spirit of impurity; this is the inner dimension of Torah revealed in our generation through Chassidus.

May it be His will that just as we are commanded throughout this month to increase in joy, so too should it be in all your affairs—both particulars and general matters—spiritually and physically.

It is well known how special this month is: these are the days of Purim. Regarding Chanukah—the matter of Purim also involves saving the body.

To conclude with a matter related to today—the 11th of the month—based on the beginning and end of our tractate Megillah: "The Megillah is read on the 11th... up to the 15th." It is known that this alludes to G‑d's Name: its ending is 11 (vav hei), its beginning is 15 (yud hei). The total sum of all Megillah reading days—11 through 15—is 65, which equals "Adnai," G‑d's Name as pronounced when concealed; that is, when G‑dliness is hidden within worldly garments. This is especially emphasized in Megillah where G‑d's Name does not appear explicitly but only hinted at by initial or final letters. Therefore we are commanded that it must be read publicly for pirsumei nisa (publicizing the miracle).

The same applies generally through Torah study—which clarifies worldly matters and determines what is permitted, pure, kosher for fulfilling G‑d's will—and what may not be used for holy purposes. Through such action by a person's soul in this world we also reveal the true content and purpose of every day throughout the year: each day must fulfill its unique mission.

This is especially so through learning specifically instituted by Moshe for Israel—to inquire about and expound upon each day's subject—as Rashi explains at tractate's end: "to accept and uphold upon themselves and their children forever."

Summary

The Rebbe teaches that communal merit, Torah study—especially Chassidus—and increasing joy during Adar bring blessing both spiritually and physically. Each day has its unique mission; learning Torah connected to each day's theme reveals deeper purpose throughout life.
