Continuing Jewish Outreach and Not Delaying a Wedding Date

ב"ה, ב' מ"ח, תשכ"א ברוקלין.
The Rebbe writes that the couple should not move since both material and spiritual livelihood are present where they are, and their outreach is successful. He instructs not to delay the wedding date once set, unless there is a real reason, and suggests considering holding it locally if costs are an issue.

Shalom u'Vrachah!

In response to your letter from Erev Shabbat Kodesh Noach with its enclosure.

It is understood that you, your wife—may she live—and your family should not move from your current place, since both material livelihood and spiritual livelihood are available to you there. Thank G‑d, with His help you and your children have succeeded in spreading Judaism and the wellsprings in your surroundings and in your pure camp, and you are in the midst of this work.

Therefore, with joy and gladness of heart continue in this work, especially through the Nshei U'Bnos Chabad organization. As explained regarding Matan Torah: through the precedence of 'Ko tomar leBeis Yaakov' ("Thus shall you say to the house of Yaakov"—these are the women) and only afterwards 'veTagid liVnei Yisrael' ("and tell the children of Israel"—these are the men), Torah gained permanence. May Hashem grant you success to share good news in all these matters.

Now we have entered Tishrei—the general month for the whole year—and the point is to draw from its themes and activities for the entire year, especially from concluding and sealing mitzvah-joy matters during our season of rejoicing in general, and specifically Simchas Torah joy.

With honor, looking forward to good news in all your matters.

It is customary as is well known that one does not postpone a wedding date once it has been set—especially when there is no reason for delay. If holding the wedding here involves extra expenses, it is worthwhile to look into arranging it at your place of residence; there are several advantages to this.
