Mr. Yitzchak Yair sheyichyeh
Shalom u'Vrachah!
I was pleased to receive your letter from the 25th of Adar Rishon, in which you write about your efforts in the religious education of Jewish children. Certainly, it is unnecessary to remind you that in order for a student to follow the path of Torah and mitzvos as he grows older, one must instill in him a deep sense of awe of Heaven and meticulousness in mitzvah observance to such a degree that even after he enters the outside world—where unfortunately undesirable influences often prevail—and sometimes the student may relinquish part of his outlook gained during his religious education, even after such concessions he will still fully observe Torah and mitzvos. Since this must be instilled in the student, it is clear how elevated a level the educator and influencer must maintain over the student. However, it has been assured that anyone who wishes to strengthen Judaism, Torah, and mitzvos—one who comes to purify is assisted—and certainly there is no need to elaborate on the moral lesson from all this.
I was pleased to read in your letter that you met with Chabad members, and I hope that not only did you meet them but also absorbed from their Torah and guidance so that soon you will be able to report not only that you met them but that you have joined their group and become one of them. Therefore, the resulting influence will also extend into your environment; regarding this too it is said: "Nothing stands in the way of will."
Regarding what you wrote about studying Chassidus and setting fixed times for this study—it is understood that this cannot be directed from afar since it depends on many details. You should discuss this with those Chabad members whom you know.
On this occasion I urge you to set fixed times for learning from Sefer HaTanya as well as following the ancient Jewish custom to recite each day after morning prayers the daily portion of Tehillim according to its division for the month.
Blessings for good news in all the above.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that true Jewish education requires deeply instilling awe of Heaven so students remain steadfast even when challenged by outside influences. He encourages connecting with Chabad teachings and community, regular Tanya study, and daily Tehillim recitation.
