במענה למכתבו פ"נ, בו כותב אשר לפי דעתו אינו מצליח במסחרו וכלשונו במכתבו, זאת אומרת בלי מזל.
והנה ידוע מאמר רז"ל, ואין מזל לישראל, כי הקב"ה בורא עולם ומנהיגו הוא המשגיח על כל אחד ואחת מישראל בכל המצטרך לו ולבני ביתו.
ומזה מובן שעליו להוסיף בעניני תורה ומצות וכן שכל ב"ב יעשו כזה, שעל ידי זה יתוסף בברכות השי"ת בהמצטרך בכלל ובעניני פרנסה בפרט.
ובנוגע לעניני פרנסה ביחוד ידועה עצת חז"ל מלח ממון חסר, זאת אומרת שעליו להרבות בצדקה, ולחלק את הצדקה ברבות פעמים, ומזמנים המסוגלים לזה הוא בכל יום חול קודם תפלת הבקר.
ומהנכון אשר יבדקו את התפילין שלו וכן את המזוזות בדירתם שתהיינה כולן כשרות כדין.

In response to your letter and pan in which you write that in your opinion you are not succeeding in your business—in your words: without mazal (luck). It is well known from our Sages that "there is no mazal for Israel," for the Holy One, blessed be He, the Creator and Ruler of the world, personally supervises each and every Jew regarding all that he and his family need.
From this it is understood that one should increase matters of Torah and mitzvos, and likewise all members of his household should do so as well. Through this, blessings from Hashem will increase in all needs generally and particularly in matters of livelihood.
Regarding livelihood specifically, the advice of our Sages is well known: "Salt for money is its diminution," meaning one should increase in giving tzedakah (charity), distributing it many times. Among the auspicious times for this is every weekday before morning prayers.
It is also proper to have his tefillin checked as well as the mezuzos in his home to ensure they are all kosher according to halachah.
With blessing for good news.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that success comes from Hashem's direct providence rather than luck. Increasing Torah observance and frequent charity brings blessing in livelihood. Checking tefillin and mezuzos ensures spiritual channels are open for Hashem's blessings.
