Shalom u'Vrachah!

Thank you for your lines about the celebration of laying the cornerstone of the Chabad Yeshivah in Kfar Chabad, where "there Hashem commanded the blessing," and this strengthens the hope that you will continue to do all you can for the success of this matter, as I wrote in my letter regarding the above celebration—in your resources, your person, and your soul—as explained there.

Regarding a timely matter: it is fitting to connect what was said with the well-known teaching from the Baal Shem Tov that we heard from my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe: "Torah without work will ultimately be nullified; work means involvement." Every Torah that does not come with work—meaning involvement in Ahavas Yisrael—every piece of Torah that does not lead to love for a fellow Jew is not true Torah. Seemingly, our Sages explicitly say: "Whoever says 'I have only Torah,' even Torah he does not have" (see Likkutei Torah Re'eh 23:3), meaning it must be accompanied by acts of kindness. But in the Baal Shem Tov's teaching two points are emphasized: (a) it must apply to every single piece of Torah; (b) there must be active involvement. As explained elsewhere regarding business: it's not someone who sits in his chamber waiting for someone to come and ask if he has goods to sell; rather, he goes out from his place, gets involved, exerts himself, seeks where to sell his merchandise, and persuades buyers in every possible way—and the analogy is clear.

In our context: through making Ahavas Yisrael a fundamental principle in Torah, it will not be difficult at all to get involved with one's resources, person—even soul—in this matter which is both Torah and Ahavas Yisrael together.

Blessings for good news in all the above and also for your community's advancement in Torah and mitzvos, going from strength to strength.

Summary

The Rebbe teaches that true Torah study must always lead to practical involvement in Ahavas Yisrael. By making love for fellow Jews a foundation of all activities—especially within Chabad institutions—one ensures lasting success and personal growth.
