After a long pause, your letter from Pesach Sheni was received, in which you ask how one should guide a person in the path of Chassidus. It is understood that this depends on the nature of the person being guided. Although it is obvious that every Jew should be introduced to the teachings of Chassidus, people do not all think alike; therefore, one must proceed according to each individual's temperament. The general point is that guidance should begin in the manner to which the person is accustomed. That is, if he is from those who focus on Mussar, then one should begin by introducing him to Iggeres HaTeshuvah of the Alter Rebbe in Kuntres U’Maayan and similar works. If he is from those inclined toward intellectual study, then one should find topics for him in Shaar HaYichud VehaEmunah and similar works. In general, the book Derech Mitzvosecha is relatively easy to understand and contains various types of material. For those who have no knowledge at all of Torah and its matters, guidance should begin with the Sichos and Likkutei Diburim.

It is surprising that you do not mention anything about your current daily schedule; surely you have fixed times for studying Nigleh and Chassidus, and will certainly inform me about this on another occasion.

At an auspicious time you will be mentioned at the holy resting place of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe, of blessed memory, for whatever you need.
