וכיון שנכנסנו לחדש זיו, שכל יום ויום מצוה מיוחדת בו, מצות הספירה, וענין המצות ה"ה כלשון הכתוב כי נר מצוה, להאיר חשך העולם, הנה יגביר האור דתורה ומצות על חשכת העולם, להביא הגאולה האמיתית והשלימה בעגלא דידן עד כי לילה כיום יאיר.

... You write about your activities in holiness and, at their core, spreading the wellsprings outward—through this Mashiach will come. May it be G‑d's will that from time to time your activities and their success increase, and may you share good news of visible and tangible good with true expansiveness of mind.
And since we have entered the month of Ziv (Iyar), in which every single day has its unique mitzvah—the mitzvah of counting the Omer—and regarding mitzvos it is written: 'For a mitzvah is a lamp' (to illuminate the darkness of the world), let the light of Torah and mitzvos overpower the world's darkness to bring about the true and complete redemption speedily in our days, until 'the night will shine like day.'

Summary
The Rebbe teaches that increasing efforts in spreading Torah and Chassidus brings more light into the world. Each mitzvah performed dispels spiritual darkness and hastens redemption. Every day offers a new opportunity to add light through action.
