במענה על מכתבו משילהי חשון והקודם לו, בו כותב ע"ד יום ההולדת שלו וע"ד הכנסו למכינה דהישיבה תורת אמת, ואשר התקדם בלימודו.
ויהי רצון, אשר יצליח בזה עוד ועוד הן בלימוד הנגלה והן בלימוד החסידות וקיום המצות בהידור אשר זה כל האדם ואם בכל מקום ובכל ישיבה אמרו רז"ל יגעת ומצאת, עאכו"כ בישיבה מיסודם ובהנהלתם של רבותנו נשיאנו נשיאי חב"ד זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, אשר עומדים ומעוררים רחמים רבים על כל השייכים אליהם ומקושרים אליהם בתוך כלל ישראל להמשיך להם המצטרך, ובפרט לתלמידי ואברכי ישיבות ארצנו הקדושה, ומובן שככל שירבה בהתמדה ושקידה תתרבה ג"כ ההצלחה, ועל ידי שישפיע גם על חבריו בזה שזהו ענין צדקה רוחניות, תתוסף בסייעתא דשמיא בכל האמור.
בברכה לשנת ההצלחה, ובטח נהג במנהג יום הולדת ולבשו"ט בכל האמור, וכן מניצול ימי חדש כסלו חדש הגאולה והנסים להפצת המעינות חוצה.

Shalom u'Vrachah!
In response to your letter from the end of Cheshvan and the one before it, in which you write about your birthday and your entry into the preparatory program of the Yeshiva Toras Emes, as well as your progress in learning.
May it be G‑d's will that you continue to succeed more and more—both in the study of Nigleh (the revealed Torah) and Chassidus—and in the meticulous observance of mitzvos, for this is the essence of man. If everywhere and in every yeshiva our Sages said "Yagata u'Matzasa" ("You have toiled and found [success]"), how much more so in a yeshiva founded and directed by our Rebbeim—Nesi'ei Chabad zatzukal lehe n'bagam ziya—who stand and arouse great mercy for all those connected to them among all Israel to draw down what is needed for them. Especially for the students and Avrechim of the yeshivas in our Holy Land. It is understood that the more one increases diligence and effort, the greater will be the success. And by also influencing your friends in this—which is a form of spiritual tzedakah—there will be an added measure of heavenly assistance in all that was mentioned above.
Blessings for a year of success. Surely you observed birthday customs and will share good news regarding all that was mentioned above. Likewise, may you utilize the days of Kislev—the month of redemption and miracles—for spreading the wellsprings outward.
