Your registered letter (zakaznaie) from the 16th and 15th of Adar was received. Regarding what you write about the various concerns you have about having to use a certain hospital and a certain conduct, etc., you should dismiss all of this from your mind and strengthen your efforts in spreading the teachings of Chassidus, its guidance and customs, for this is the whole purpose of man. Any matters that confuse this goal—including the aforementioned concerns—according to the instruction of our holy Nesi'im, especially my revered father-in-law the Rebbe (as brought in Hayom Yom for the 23rd of Sivan), stem from an undesirable source and therefore must be nullified.

Since thought is always wandering, the way to nullify an undesirable thought is by focusing on good thoughts about good matters. True good is "good for Heaven and good for people," which is one of the foundations of Chassidus: Ahavas Yisrael (love for a fellow Jew) and love for Hashem are one—achieved through love of Torah that unites "the people of Rome and the people of Suria" (see footnote¹), as explained in many places in Chassidus.

I was pleased with what you wrote regarding the general picture of gatherings during auspicious days in..., although it is still not clear how you are working to increase these gatherings both quantitatively and qualitatively, since we must always ascend in holiness. It is also well known what we have heard many times from my revered father-in-law the Rebbe: In our times it is like climbing a very steep mountain—standing still or pausing on the spot is impossible; if one does not climb higher, then inevitably... Especially since we see this tangibly and in great detail when living in a country where spreading the wellsprings began only recently. Certainly there is no need to elaborate further.

Enclosed is something recently published; surely you will share its content with many.

1 Shemot Rabbah 12:3 — David said: Even though G‑d decreed (Tehillim 115:16) "The heavens are G‑d's heavens, but He gave the earth to mankind," it can be compared to a king who decreed that people from Rome should not descend to Suria and people from Suria should not ascend to Rome. So too, when G‑d created the world He decreed: The heavens belong to G‑d and earth to mankind. But when He wished to give the Torah He annulled that first decree and said: The lower ones shall ascend above and those above shall descend below—and I will begin first, as it says (Shemot 19:20) "And Hashem descended upon Mount Sinai," and it says (Shemot 24:1) "And to Moshe He said: Ascend to Hashem." Thus, whatever Hashem desires He does in heaven and earth, etc.

Summary

The Rebbe teaches that anxieties stemming from negative sources should be dismissed by focusing on positive action—especially spreading Chassidus—which brings true benefit both spiritually and materially. Growth in holiness requires constant upward effort without pause.
