... כפי שאמר לי... הנה אביו למד בליובאוויטש והרי ידוע פס"ד המשנה שהאב זוכה לבן בחכמה שהיא הסברא הישרה וכמבואר במפרשי המשנה שם, ואין לך סברא ישרה מזו, להכיר בההכרח הגמור בדורותנו אלה ללמוד זאת החכמה (עיין אגרת הקדש לרבנו הזקן דף קמ"ב ע"ב) שזה משפיע על כל מעמד ומצב האדם ובפרט של אלו שהוריהם כבר נכנסו בכרם פנימיות התורה שאז ציווי רז"ל (שבת ל"א סוף ע"א) אם יראת ד' אוצרו הן א"ל כו' הוא בהחלט ובהקדם והשי"ת יזכהו להיות ג"כ צנור אשר על ידו יתפשט לימוד זה גם בחביריו וסביבתו.

... As was told to me... his father studied in Lubavitch, and it is well known the ruling of the Mishnah that a father merits for his son in wisdom, which is the straight reasoning, as explained by the commentators on the Mishnah there. And there is no straighter reasoning than this: to recognize the absolute necessity in our generation to study this wisdom (see Iggeres HaKodesh of our Rebbe the Alter Rebbe, page 142b), for it influences every state and situation of a person—especially those whose parents have already entered the vineyard of the inner dimension of Torah. In such a case, the directive of our Sages (Shabbos 31a end) "If he has fear of G‑d, then yes; if not..." is definite and urgent. May Hashem grant him merit to also be a conduit through whom this study will spread among his friends and environment.
