סו"ס נתקבל מכתב ממנו (מיום ד' שבט) ובאשר אינו כותב כמה ישהה בפאריז הנני שולח המענה ג"כ לפאריז.
א) מוסג"פ קונטרס ליו"ד-י"ג שבט ובל"ס יזכה בו את הרבים.
ב) מכתב כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר שליט"א משנת עת"ר שמזכיר אינו אצלי ובמילא איני יודע למה מרמז, ובכל אופן בשנים לכל הפחות איני מסכים למה שכותב:
(א) למה שמתנצל הוא לפני על הפרטים שאינם כדבעי עדיין. - מלאכתו ומלאכתי אינם שלנו כי מלאכת שמים היא בעיקרה, וכמרז"ל במשנה סוף קדושין אני נבראתי לשמש את קוני (נתבאר ע"פ דא"ח בלקו"ת סד"ה ושמתי כדכוד - השני. ומובן שאין בזה סתירה למ"ש רד"ה טעמה שבקונטרס המוסג"פ). וא"כ מה יועילנו אם אקבל התנצלותו אחרי שהעידו רז"ל שהיום קצר והמלאכה מרובה ובעל הבית דוחק?
איני רוצה להאריך בזה, כיון שאינו עתה במקום עבודתו העקרית, און איך וועל אויסניצן דעם פאראח ועד בואו לאנגלי' ישכח על כל הדברים. ויה"ר שלא נצטרך מכאן ולהבא בכלל למוסר וכיו"ב ועבדו את הוי' בשמחה תכה"י.
(ב) למה שדוחה התקון בעבודתו מזמן לזמן. ומה יהי' בהימים. שחולפים ועוברים ואינם חוזרים וימים יוצרו וקצבה וכו'. וכנ"ל עתה לא באתי אלא בקצור נמרץ ולחכימא ברמיזא.
ג) להיותו עתה בפאריז, שבודאי ג"ז נוגע למהותו שהוא שד"ר, הנני מסג"פ העתק ממה שכתבתי לא' שם בדבר ענין נפנה בפאריז וסביבותי' כי זכורני שתמיד הי' מלמד זכות על העבודה ועל העדר העבודה וכו'.

At last I received your letter (from Wednesday, 4 Shevat), and since you did not write how long you will remain in Paris, I am also sending this reply to Paris.
a) Enclosed is a kuntres for the 10th–13th of Shevat; surely you will merit to share it with the public.
b) Regarding the letter of my father-in-law, the Rebbe shlita from the year 5670 (1910), which you mention—I do not have it with me and therefore do not know what it refers to. In any case, regarding at least two points I do not agree with what you wrote: (1) Why do you apologize to me for details that are not yet as they should be? The work—yours and mine—is not ours; it is primarily the work of Heaven. As our Sages say at the end of Kiddushin: "I was created only to serve my Maker" (explained according to Chassidus in Likkutei Torah on V'Samti Kadkod—the second one). It is understood that this does not contradict what is written in the kuntres attached. So what good does your apology do if our Sages have already testified that "the day is short, the work is great, and the Master presses"? I do not wish to elaborate on this since you are currently not at your main place of work. I will use this opportunity until your arrival in England; by then you may forget all these matters. May it be G‑d's will that from now on we should not need rebuke or similar things at all—and serve Hashem with joy as always.
(2) Regarding postponing improvement in your work from time to time—what will be with the days that pass and do not return? "Days were formed...and a limit..." As above, I am writing only briefly; for the wise, a hint suffices.
c) Since you are now in Paris—which certainly also relates to your essence as a shadar—I am enclosing a copy of what I wrote to someone there regarding the matter of "Nifneh" in Paris and its surroundings. For I recall that you always judged favorably regarding both activity and inactivity there.

Summary
The Rebbe teaches that our mission is G‑d's work; we must use our time wisely and serve Hashem with joy rather than dwelling on shortcomings or delays. Even when away from one's main post, one should continue positive action wherever possible.
