Shalom u'Vrachah!

In response to your letter from 2 Shevat with the attached list for dividing the Shas in your synagogue.

a) I have placed the list in the room of my father-in-law, the Rebbe shlita, and attached is his response to this matter. In my opinion, it would be good to make a photocopy of this letter and affix it to the walls of the synagogue. "Kinat Sofrim tarbeh chochmah" (the jealousy among scholars increases wisdom)—see Dvarim HaMatzil chapter 15.

b) Certainly, you will also post on the synagogue walls a list of those participating in the Shas division; this will serve as encouragement and a good remembrance in G‑d's sanctuary. This is a custom of Lubavitch.

c) Enclosed is a booklet just now published for the merit of many.

d) See the third letter at the end of this booklet. Furthermore, regarding what more my father-in-law, the Rebbe shlita, should do so that a living spirit will be heard in the women's section—among Anash women in general and especially regarding girls' education.

e) I see in your list there Mr. Teichtal; please kindly clarify with him if he received my letter (in response to his letter) from 19 Kislev.
