קבלתי מכתבו מכ"ג תמוז והקודם לו, ונהניתי לקרות בו שעוסק הוא בשדה חנוך הכשר... ויה"ר שיהי' בהצלחה.
ומ"ש שיודע הוא שיכול להיות וצריך להיות הרבה יותר טוב מכמו שהוא עתה, הנה ידוע פסק רז"ל יגעתי ומצאתי תאמין וידוע פתגם כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר טובה פעולה אחת מאלף אנחות, וכן הוא בנידון דידן, ומובן אשר עד כמה שאפשר צריך כל אדם להשתלם יותר ויותר, ולאידך גיסא הנה אין להפסיק את כל העבודה לתכלית שלימות האפשרי בשבילו, אלא שצריך לאחוז בזה וגם בזה, ובפרט עבודת החינוך שכל יום ויום נוגע בנפשות של עשיריות בני ובנות ישראל, שאין להפסיק עבודה זו, וידוע פס"ד רבינו הזקן - תורה אור בתחלתו - שע"י עבודת הצדקה (בגשמיות או ברוחניות) נעשים מוחו ולבו זכים אלף פעמים ככה,
בברכת הצלחה בעבודתו בקדש וזה ימשיך ג"כ תוספת ברכה גם בעניניו הפרטיים.

I received your letter from the 23rd of Tammuz and the one before it, and I was pleased to read that you are engaged in the field of proper education... May it be His will that you have success.
Regarding what you wrote—that you know you can and should be much better than you are now—our Sages have ruled: "I have toiled and found, believe it." It is also known the saying of my father-in-law, the Rebbe: "One good deed is better than a thousand sighs." This applies here as well. It is understood that as much as possible, every person must strive to improve more and more. On the other hand, one should not stop all their work until they reach their possible perfection; rather, one must hold on to both—striving for improvement while continuing the work. Especially in educational work, where every single day touches the souls of tens of Jewish boys and girls—this work must not be interrupted. It is known the ruling of Rabbeinu HaZaken—in Torah Or at its beginning—that through the work of tzedakah (whether material or spiritual), one's mind and heart become a thousand times more refined.
With blessings for success in your holy work—and this will also bring additional blessing in your personal matters.
