במענה על מכתבו מי"א מ"ח: אם להשתתף במלוה מלכה של הביורא לחינוך עברי בהרצאה אודות שיטת הבעש"ט - הנה כנראה ממכתבו א) אינו מוכרח לזה כי לא יהי' היזק להת"ת גם אם לא ישתתף ב) חושש לרושם אי רצוי שתעשה השתתפותו במלוה מלכה שלהם, וכיון שאינו רואה תועלת גדולה מהרצאה אחת הרי למה לו להכנס לענין מסופק ושב ואל תעשה עדיף.
מה שכותב שהצעירים והצעירות בביהכנ"ס שלו רוצים להתארגן ולשפר את ביהכנ"ס גם לעשות קלוב שיהי' שייך לביהכנ"ס וכיו"ב לפי דעתי נכון וטוב הוא, ומה שחושש אולי עי"ז יבואו לרקודי תערובות וכה"ג - בטח ימצא דרכים המתאימים למנעם מזה, וכיו"ב, ובלי כל מחלוקת ויעסיקם בענינים כשרים וטובים: הרצאות (בהשתתפותם היינו שמהם ג"כ יהי' מרצים), וכוחים ע"ד שאלות השייכות לתומ"צ או לדברי ימי ישראל, יסוד ספרי' ואולם לקריאה, יסוד קרן של גמ"ח או של צדקה, תערוכה של ענינים השייכים לחנוכה קודם לחנוכה וכו' ועוד כהנה.
נהנתי במאד לספורו ע"ד השמע"צ בת"ת שלו, וזוהי ראי' נוספת לפתגם כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ שתעמולה אינה חוזרת ריקם, והוא הדין לביהכנ"ס שלו ובפרט להצעירים והצעירות, ובעבודה המתאמת יעלה ויצליח בעניניו הנ"ל וזה גופא ימשיך הצלחה גם בעניניו הפרטים.

In response to your letter from the 11th of MarCheshvan: Regarding whether to participate in the Melaveh Malkah of the Bureau for Hebrew Education with a lecture about the Baal Shem Tov's approach—apparently from your letter: a) It is not necessary since there will be no harm to the Talmud Torah even if you do not participate; b) You are concerned about the impression if your participation in their Melaveh Malkah would be undesirable. Since you do not see great benefit from one lecture, why enter into a doubtful matter? In such cases, refraining is preferable.
Regarding what you write that the young men and women in your synagogue want to organize and improve the synagogue—also to make a club connected to the synagogue and similar things—in my opinion this is correct and good. As for your concern that this might lead to mixed dancing or similar things—you will surely find suitable ways to prevent this and similar issues without any disputes. Engage them in proper and good activities: lectures (with their participation—that is, some of them should also be speakers), debates on questions related to Torah and mitzvot or Jewish history, establishing a library or reading room, founding a fund for gemach or charity, an exhibition of matters related to Chanukah before Chanukah, etc., and many more such ideas.
I was very pleased with your report about Shemini Atzeret at your Talmud Torah. This is further proof of the saying of my father-in-law, the previous Rebbe hk"m, that outreach never returns empty-handed. The same applies to your synagogue—especially regarding the young men and women—and with coordinated effort you will succeed in these matters mentioned above. This itself will bring success also in your personal matters.
