כח אלול
בִּרְכַת דַ' הִיא תַּעֲשִׁיר, בִּכְלַל וּבִּפְרַט לְהַנֹותֵן מֵעִתֹּו וּמִזְמַנֹו לַעֲסֹוק בְּצָרְכֵי צִבּוּר בְּעִנְיָנֵי צְדָקָה וְחִזוּק הַיַהַדוּת, וּכְּמַאֲמַר: דֶער אֹויְבֶּערְשְׁטֶער בָּ"הֻ (בָּרוּך הוּא) בְּלַיְיבְּט נִיט קֵיין בַּעֲל חֹוב, פַאר יֶעדֶער גוּטֶער זַאך וָואס אַ אִיד טוּט, צָאְלט עֶר בְּמֵיטַב מִיט בָּנִי חַיִי וּמְזֹונִי רְוִיחִי.

"The blessing of the L‑rd, it enriches" — in a general way, and in particular for one who gives of his own time and hours to occupy himself with the needs of the community, in matters of tzedakah and in strengthening Yiddishkeit. As the saying goes: The Almighty does not remain a debtor; for every good thing a Jew does, He pays in the best coin — with children, life and ample sustenance.
