ובמיוחד נהניתי לקרוא בו על דבר ההתקדמות בהשיבה להמקור, ובסגנון הידוע לעצמותו של כל יהודי,

הוא העיקר, וכמודגש גם כן במתן-תורה, בתוכן עשרת הדיברות שהוא כולו מעשיי, לבד הדיבור הראשון המניח היסוד לקיום כל המעשים, שגם בזה נקודה מעשיית ביותר, כפי שראינו בדורנו, דורו של היטלר ויורשיו, אשר כל אלה אשר ביססו את הציווי של "לא תרצח" ו"לא תגנוב" וכו' על שיטות פילוסופיות ושיטות במוסר אבל מיוסדות בשכל בני אדם, הרי לא רק שלא קיימו ציוויים אלה אלא שעשו מענין הרצח וענין הגניבה וכו' שיטה פילוסופית ושיטה מוסרית וכו' וכו', ובממדים למעלה מכל השערה.

I was pleased to receive your letter from the 9th of Iyar, even though it arrived after some time. I especially enjoyed reading about your progress in returning to your source, expressed in the unique style inherent to every Jew, as our Sages say: 'Yisrael ma'aminim bnei ma'aminim' (Jews are believers, children of believers).
One of the foundations of Jewish faith is that action is primary. This is also emphasized at Matan Torah (the Giving of the Torah), in the content of the Ten Commandments which are all practical actions—except for the first commandment which lays the foundation for fulfilling all actions; even there, there is a very practical point. As we have seen in our generation—the generation of Hitler and his successors—all those who based their prohibitions against murder and theft on philosophical or moral systems founded on human intellect not only failed to uphold these commandments but turned murder and theft into philosophical and moral systems themselves, on a scale beyond imagination.
Based on our Sages’ teaching that 'one mitzvah leads to another,' I am certain that the mitzvot you observe and write about will surely lead to more mitzvot. As an eishet chayil (woman of valor) and head of your household, your entire home will follow and advance in this direction. The merit of your ancestors will assist you.
With honor and blessing—in the style customary in our family and also in the Slonim family—for receiving the Torah with joy and inwardness, and for good tidings in all mentioned above.
