בעת סגולה זו יהי רצון שיתברך כל אחד ואחת מכם
בימי חנוכה מאירים ושיאירו את כל ימי השנה,
ויהי' בכל עניניו, בסגנון הידוע

ובמיוחד - בהנוגע ל"נר מצוה ותורה אור",
ע"י לימוד תורתנו הקדושה בשקידה וקיום מצותי' בהידור,
וכמרומז במצות נר חנוכה - שמדליקים משתשקע החמה על פתח ביתו מבחוץ ומוסיפים בנרות מיום ליום -
להוסיף בנר ואור האמורים מיום ליום ולא להתרשם מן ה"חשך" אשר בעולם ולהשפיע בכל זה גם על אלה הנמצאים עדיין "בחוץ",
ועד אשר בצדק (ובענוה) יאמר כאו"א:
"כמופת
הייתי לרבים ואתה (השם יתברך) מחסי עוז".

At this auspicious time, may it be G‑d's will that each and every one of you be blessed with radiant days of Chanukah that will illuminate all the days of the year. May everything you do be in the well-known manner of "a candle to illuminate," especially regarding "a mitzvah is a candle and Torah is light," through diligent study of our holy Torah and meticulous observance of its mitzvos. As hinted in the mitzvah of lighting the Chanukah candle — which is lit from sunset at the entrance to one's home facing outward, and with an increase in candles day by day — so too should you increase in these lights from day to day, not being affected by the darkness in the world, and influence even those who are still outside. Until you can justifiably (and humbly) say as King David did: "I have been a wonder to many; but You (Hashem) are my strong refuge."

According to Jewish custom — which itself is Torah — I am enclosing here Chanukah gelt. "A mitzvah is a candle and Torah is light": Mishlei 6:23. "Which are lit...day by day": Shulchan Aruch Orach Chaim 671:2. "I have been a wonder...strong refuge": Tehillim 71:7. "And You (Hashem) are my strong refuge": Only through this have I been a wonder (as our Sages say in Sukkah 52b; explained in Tanya ch. 13), hence it is said with humility. Jewish custom: Even our Rebbeim themselves would give Chanukah gelt (to their children).
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that by increasing in Torah study and mitzvos during Chanukah—and sharing this light with others—we can illuminate our entire year and positively impact those around us.
