Shalom u'Vrachah!
I pleasantly received your letter and thank you for your wishes and heartfelt thoughts expressed therein.
I have already spoken on such matters in our holy Torah regarding G‑d's blessing to Avraham Avinu: "Va'avarecha mevarechecha" (I will bless those who bless you), that whoever blesses is blessed by G‑d, the Source of all blessings, from His full, open, holy, and generous hand.
As we enter the new year that is coming upon us and all Israel for good and blessing, I hereby express my blessing to you and all yours for a good and sweet year both materially and spiritually together. Especially I wish you success in your responsible position with peace and tranquility, as it is written: "V'natati shalom ba'aretz" (And I will grant peace in the land).
With honor and with blessings for inscription and sealing for good.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that one who offers blessings is themselves blessed by G‑d. As the new year begins, he encourages us to seek both material and spiritual goodness, especially success in our responsibilities with peace.
