השנה לביקורו כאן, אף שכמובן וגם פשוט שגם במשך השנה פעמים רבות חשבתי והתבוננתי בפרטי הביקור וכללותו וכו', אבל
הרי
ידוע אשר בתקופת השנה מתחדשים הענינים ביתר תוקף ומתחדש גם הזכרון ומתעורר ביתר חיות וביתר עז,
לכן מצאתי לנכון לגלגל ולהתאים לימים אלו גם שילוח ההמחאה המצורפת בזה, בהמשך להידיעה זה מכבר ע"ד היזמה
לכתיבת
ספר-תורה בקשר עם יום ההולדת את כ', ובהשתתפות מיוחדת של תלמידי בתי הספר.
וההמחאה באה בתור השתתפות תלמידי ותלמידות – שיחיו – של בתי ספר החב"דיים, ובסכום מכוון.
ויהי רצון אשר התורה – שהיא חיינו ואורך ימינו ומאירה את החיים והימים, שהרי
אין
אור אלא תורה, כמו
שנאמר
ותורה אור – תאיר הגלוי שבחיים והנסתר שבחיים, וכמאמר הזוהר הידוע אשר ישראל ואורייתא וקודשא בריך הוא כולי דרגא על דרגא סתים וגליא (אחרי עג, א).
וכמנהג בני ישראל לקשר הענינים עם (הוראות) ימים אלו,
וכהוראת
רבנו הזקן "לעבן מיט דער צייט", הרי זה גם מעניני דימי הפורים הבע"ל, אשר אז קיימו וקבלו היהודים,
קיימו
(בימי אחשורוש) מה שקבלו כבר (במתן תורה).
ומענין לענין באותו ענין, מתאים

Shalom u'Vrachah!
On the anniversary of your visit here—even though it is obvious and simple that throughout the year I have often thought about and reflected on the details and overall experience of your visit—still, it is known that at the anniversary time matters are renewed with greater strength; memory is also renewed and awakened with more vitality and vigor. Therefore, I found it appropriate to connect these days with sending the enclosed check as well, following up on the earlier information regarding the initiative to write a Sefer Torah in connection with your birthday on the 20th, with special participation from students of the schools.
The check comes as participation from my students—may they live—of the Chabad schools, in a specific amount.
May it be G‑d's will that the Torah—which is our life and length of days and illuminates life and our days (for there is no light but Torah, as it is said "and Torah is light")—should illuminate both what is revealed in life and what is hidden in life. As the well-known saying from Zohar: "Yisrael, Orayta (Torah), and Kudsha Brich Hu (the Holy One Blessed be He) are all one level upon another—hidden and revealed" (Acharei 73a).
And as is customary among Bnei Yisrael to connect matters with (the lessons of) these days—and as taught by our master the Alter Rebbe: 'Live with the times'—this too relates to matters of the upcoming days of Purim when 'the Jews fulfilled and accepted' (they fulfilled in Ahasuerus's days what they had already accepted at Matan Torah).
And from one matter to another within this same theme: according to the instruction (which also gives strength) "When Adar enters we increase in joy," how much more so during Purim itself. May Hashem grant that your joy—and that of all yours—should continually increase in growing light among all our Jewish brethren wherever they are.
Especially in Eretz HaKodesh—a land upon which "the eyes of Hashem your G‑d are always upon it from the beginning of the year until year's end"—and in Jerusalem Ir HaKodesh about which it says "and they shall pray to Hashem through this city which You have chosen." For all of us together may there be light, gladness, joy, and honor literally—as our Sages say.
