ויהי רצון שרבות בשנים יצליח בתפקידו הכי נעלה להביא מזור ותרופה להחולים הפונים אליו, ומחולי הגוף לחולי הנפש לרפאות ולמלא החסר בחיים הרוחניים של הפונים לעזרתו, כוונתי כפשוטה החסר אצלם בחיים על פי התורה, תורת חיים, שהיא חיינו ואורך ימינו. והרי חיי הגוף שיהיו בשלימותם תלויים בשלימות חיי הנפש, וכפתגם הידוע והכלל הרפואי – נשמה בריאה בגוף בריא.

It was with pleasure that I received your letter via Mrs. Rachel Donin, who also conveyed information about your attention to her and all her family members, and how you do everything with a pleasant demeanor, etc.
Our Sages have taught that no matter how great the help given to a person may be, it is multiplied many times over when it is offered with a pleasant countenance. Certainly there is no need to elaborate on this to you, who are engaged in medicine, since the personal and special relationship of the doctor is crucial for the success of treatment and for the trust of those who turn to him, etc.
May it be G‑d's will that for many years you succeed in your most elevated role—to bring healing and remedy to those who turn to you for help: from physical ailments to those of the soul—healing and filling what is lacking in the spiritual lives of those seeking your assistance. I mean literally what is lacking in their lives according to Torah—the Torah of life—which is our life and the length of our days.
The completeness of bodily life depends on the completeness of spiritual life, as is well known from the saying and medical principle: "A healthy soul in a healthy body."
