לויט דעם באקאנטן פון דעם אלטן רבי'ן, בעל התניא והשלחן ערוך, אז די פרשה פון דער וואך אנטהאלט אנווייזונגען פאר אלע געשעענישן פון דער וואך, איז כדאי צו באמערקן און אונטערשטרייכן די באדייטונג פון די ווערטער בהעלותך את הנרות -"ווען דו וועסט אנצינדן די ליכט". לויט ווי רש"י דערקלערט אויף אן ארט, האט מען געדארפט אנצינדן די ליכט פון דער מנורה אין בית המקדש אין אן אופן אז דער פלאם זאל אויפגיין פון זיך אליין (שתהא שלהבת עולה מאלי').
און דאס איז אויך די אויפגאבע פון א גוטן חינוך, אז דער תלמיד און תלמידה זאלן קענען שטייגן זעלבסטשטענדיק דורך דעם פלאם פון נר מצוה ותורה אור, וואס זייערע מחנכים און דערציער צינדן אן אין זייערע נשמות.
די פארווירקליכונג פון דער דאזיקער אויפגאבע ווערט נאך פארלייכטערט דורכדעם וואס די נשמה אליין, די נפש אלקית וואס יעדער איד, מאן און פרוי, האט, איז לויט איר אינערלעכע נאטור גענויגט און שטרעבט צו תורה ומצוות. עס איז בלויז נויטיק צוצוגרייטן די "קנויטלעך" - אראפצונעמען די שטערונגען און איינרעדענישן פון דעם יצר הרע; און דאן איז שלהבת עולה מאלי'.
די מוסדות אין כפר חב"ד וואס איר שטיצט דורך אייער איבערגעבענער ארבעט, פירן דורך די דאזיקע אויפגאבע, און איר האט א גרויסן חלק און א גרויסן זכות אין דער שותפות. אבער ווי אין אלע זאכן פון גוטס און קדושה, וואו עס איז שטענדיק דא ארט צו מוסיף זיין, אזוי איז צו האפן, אז איר וועט מוסיף זיין אין אלע אייערע טעטיקייטן לטובת די מוסדות הק', וועלכע זיינען געגרינדעט געווארן, און ווערן אנגעפירט, אין דעם גייסט און דרך פון כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע.
דער אויבערשטער זאל העלפען אז איר זאלט מצליח זיין אין אייער ארבעט אין א שטייגענדער מאס, און זאל אויך באגליקן בטוב הנראה והנגלה, אייך און אייערע בני בית שיחיו, אין אלץ וואס מען נויטיגט זיך, בגשמיות וברוחניות.

To the participants in the annual luncheon of the NY Committee for the Seminar for Teachers and Vocational Schools for Girls in Kfar Chabad in our holy land—may it be rebuilt and established speedily in our days—may they live.

It is with pleasure that I received the news about your upcoming luncheon on Sunday, Parshas Behaaloscha Es HaNeros, G‑d willing. May Hashem help that this endeavor be crowned with great success in every respect.
According to what is known from the Alter Rebbe, author of Tanya and Shulchan Aruch, that the weekly Torah portion contains guidance for all events of that week, it is worthwhile to note and emphasize the significance of the words "Behaaloscha Es HaNeros"—"when you kindle the lamps." As Rashi explains in one place, it was necessary to kindle the lamps of the Menorah in the Beis HaMikdash so that the flame would rise up on its own (she'tehei shalheves oleh me'eileha). This too is the task of good education: that the student should be able to grow independently through the flame of Ner Mitzvah v'Torah Or (the candle of mitzvah and light of Torah) which their educators ignite within their souls.
The fulfillment of this task is further facilitated by the fact that the soul itself—the G‑dly soul which every Jew, man or woman, possesses—is by its inner nature inclined and aspires toward Torah and mitzvos. It is only necessary to prepare the "wicks"—to remove obstacles and arguments from the yetzer hara; then shalheves oleh me'eileha (the flame rises up on its own).
The institutions in Kfar Chabad which you support through your devoted work carry out this very mission, and you have a great share and merit in this partnership. But as with all matters of goodness and holiness where there is always room to increase, it is hoped you will continue to add in all your activities for these holy institutions which were founded and are conducted in the spirit and path of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal.
May Hashem help you succeed ever more in your work and also bless you with visible good for you and your household in all your needs both materially and spiritually.

Summary
