... והרי גם זה מעניני ימי הפורים האלה, אשר דרשו חכמינו ז"ל ליהודים היתה אורה - זו תורה. ואדמו"ר האמצעי מפרש בזה (מתורת אדמו"ר הזקן) דיוק הלשון "אורה" בתוספת "ה", כי בפרטיות הרי "תורה - אור" לשון זכר הוא המדובר בתורה שבכתב, ו"תורה - אורה" המדובר בתורה שבעל פה (ובשרשה) ובאה ע"י מס"נ.
ויהי רצון שעל פי הכלל שקבעו חכמינו ז"ל אין מקרא יוצא מידי פשוטו, יהי' ליהודים אורה ושמחה וששון ויקר גם כפשוטו ובכל הענינים.

... And this too is among the matters of these days of Purim, about which our Sages of blessed memory expounded: 'For the Jews there was light (orah)'—this means Torah. And the Mitteler Rebbe explains (from the teachings of the Alter Rebbe) the precise wording 'orah' with an added 'heh,' for specifically, 'Torah—or' (masculine form) refers to the Written Torah, while 'Torah—orah' (feminine form) refers to the Oral Torah (and its source), which comes through self-sacrifice.
And may it be G‑d’s will that, according to the principle established by our Sages of blessed memory that a verse never departs from its simple meaning, there should be for the Jews light, gladness, joy, and honor—also in their literal sense and in all matters.
