My teachers (the Maggid and the Baal Shem Tov): Their awe, etc., "without measure or limit," which is drawn down through ten [sefirot]—that is, from what is above ten, namely Keter—Peleh (wonder)—which is above wisdom—Kadosh (holy). Furthermore: it also affects the animal soul—it is easier through wonders than through holiness.
This is a response to Moreinu HaRav Shneor Zalman HaLevi Duchman regarding his letter dated 18 Elul 5724. Additional letters to him are referenced above in the previous letter and in the notes mentioned there.
My teachers: In your letter: You included a list from today, Sunday’s occurrence... I would very much like to know the explanation of our Rebbe’s words "his wondrous words"—since he always writes "holy," there must certainly be an intention behind this word?
