מאשר אני קבלת מכתב כ', וכן הספר "מלחמה גרעינית ושלום גרעיני" ליהושפט הרכבי. תודה על העבר וגם על להבא, שבטח ימשיך בכגון דא.
כמנהג בני ישראל למצוא רמזים בתורה על כל ענין ופרט, ובעמדנו ימים ספורים לפני זמן מתן תורתנו, הרי ענין התורה הוא לזכך את החומר והגשם עד שיתגלו הכחות הצפונים בהם, ועד למקור הראשון הוא כח הפועל בנפעל, אשר בדברו שמים נעשו וברוח פיו כל צבאם. שמזה מובן מה גדלו כחות-עד שיש בכל דבר וענין, אלא שצריך לחדור לפנימיות החומר לגלות, כאמור, את הצפון בתוך תוכו ופנימיותו.
והנה המדע מתחיל לגלות את זה בחומר כפשוטו, שזהו מנקודות החקירה בשטח המדע הגרעיני, ומשלב לשלב וממדרגה למדרגה מתעמקת החקירה גם בנוגע לבני אדם ועניניהם, אשר בסגנון חכמינו ז"ל כל אחד עולם מלא הוא, ובפרט שישליט הפנימיות על החיצוניות, הצורה על החומר, והרוחניות האמתית על הלבושים והקליפות המכסים עלי', עד שכל פרט שבבריאה, ועל אחת כמה וכמה כללות הבריאה, יכריזו אנכי ה' אלקיך, ה' הוא האלקים אין עוד מלבדו.
בכבוד ובברכת מועדים לשמחה ולקבלת התורה בשמחה ובפנימיות.

I acknowledge receipt of your letter, as well as the book "Nuclear War and Nuclear Peace" by Yehoshafat Harkabi. Thank you for what you have sent so far and also in advance for what you will continue to send in this regard.
It is customary among the Jewish people to find allusions in Torah for every matter and detail. As we stand just days before the time of the giving of our Torah—the essence of Torah is to refine materiality and physicality until the hidden powers within them are revealed, reaching all the way to their original source: the power of the Creator within creation—by whose word the heavens were made and by the breath of His mouth all their hosts (Tehillim 33:6). From this it is understood how great are the powers that exist in every thing and matter; one must penetrate into the inner aspect of materiality to reveal, as mentioned above, what is hidden deep inside its core and innermost being.
Science has begun to reveal this in material things literally; this is one of the focal points of investigation in nuclear science. Step by step and level by level, research deepens also regarding human beings and their affairs—expressed in our sages' language: each person is an entire world. Especially when one's inner essence rules over externality—the form over matter—and true spirituality over garments and shells that cover it—until every detail in creation, and certainly all of creation as a whole, will proclaim: Anochi Hashem Elokecha ("I am the L‑rd your G‑d"), Hashem Hu HaElokim Ein Od Milvado ("the L‑rd is G‑d; there is nothing besides Him").
With honor and with blessings for joyous festivals and for receiving the Torah with joy and inwardness.

The Rebbe teaches that both Torah study and scientific inquiry aim to uncover hidden powers within creation. By refining materiality and revealing its inner essence, we come closer to recognizing G‑d's unity in all existence.
